There's a deeper issue here. Since the onset of his presidency, Bush has been pigheaded and unwilling to work with Democrats. Now that they control the House, however, he suddenly gets a change of heart and wants a bipartisan agenda?! When pigs fly.

George Bush should learn to tread lightly or he will be stampeded that is for sure. rightfully so I do believe, while he may try to set policy he has got to deal with congress as they hold the purse strings. I think the question is will he learn the easy way or the hard way and as dumb as he is I am sure it will be the hard way. Down with Bush and on to the next administration.

No - the Democrats haven't even tried to work in Washington for the past 6 years. They have threatened and filibustered but not worked with anyone. The entire time saying Bush won't work with them - on practically every Sunday morning news show.
It is time to watch the games begin - will they do as promised and work on the issues promised or will it be business as usual?
Time will tell what is most important to the Democrats in Congress - immigration, Iraq and education or amnesty for illegals, pointing fingers, stalling for the elections in 2008 , name calling or excuses as to why they can't get things done under Bush now .
It will be up to the American people to keep a close eye on the votes that are important to them. Remember how their elected official votes as to how they said they would vote before the election - and hold them accountable.

I found that astoundingly arrogant as well, especially in light of the most recent elections. What seems even worse is his upcoming attempt to send MORE troops in harm's way. I hope the new Democratic congress has the guts to stand up and finally say no.

The American Psychiatric assoc. places the figure at 3%, and STOUT(2005) has it at 4%, the number of males that suffer from sociopathy..(google,it).." Sociopaths only care about fulfilling their own needs and desires, selfishness and egocentricity to the extreme. They often believe they are doing something good for society,or at least nothing that bad.".......Sound like anyone you may be familiar with..??

But the people elected mostly conservative (supposedly) Democrats... did they campaign on bringing troops home and amnesty for illegals?

All you libs should get over it. We're sending more troops in. I don't completely agree but he is the boss and know much more than the "new order" could even fathom. I'm glad all the new dems were able to puff up thier ideas and get voted in so, they will truly show that they don't know how to resolve the Iraq problem either. Change is not always good.

I agree thats how it should be. But this does not surprise me in the least, and its typical behavior of the spoiled brat President who has had everything handed to him his whole life. He's doing nothing more than show America and the world just how clueless he really is.

More political bias. Semantics man...word games won't solve a thing. It is a 2 way street. And as the fact is that he is the President and nation's leader, ie: their boss, that's kind of how it works. All former Presidents have made the same statements at one time or another.
If you aren't helping, you're in the way.
