The contemporary international arena reflect an unbalanced and not realistically justified global system where similar crime commited by different nations is not punished justifiably with the dictates of international law. There seems to be different international laws guiding the dealings of the militarily strong and economically powerful countries in relation to the weak and developing nations in the world of today.

The UN in its present form will never be an effective force. I personally doubt if there is any way to restructure the agency into a global power which promotes prosperity and justice. As hung-up as Americans are on political correctness the UN takes PC to an appalling level which will never allow it to overcome the petty dictators and tyrants who have been given voice in the assembly. Can you imagine what would any country gave judicial power to criminals allowing them to veto any sentence against themselves and to pass judgment on fellow criminals. It's an insane system which is doomed to fail. The only hope, albeit a small one for the UN is for the members with the strong militaries and economies to demand change on the threat of removing themselves from the UN. I believe there is a chance that the majority of the smaller members would vote for an overhaul of the charter on the face of such threats. Can this happen? Probably not. I think we will see a coalition formed between some of the same counties which have united to combat tyranny in the past. They will be functioning in the face of great diversity from the tyrants and the eunuch countries who haven't the stomach for bravery and in an effort to assuage their egos will continue to nip at the heels of herd. They should remember the adage, "the dogs may bark at the traffic but they are powerless to stop it". Have a blessed and happy year.

You have got to be kidding! The UN is incapable of doing anything other than lining their own pockets at the expense of others.
