I use to work for a television service company. We had six people who took the service request, and the phones would be ringing like crazy. The company was in the process of changing ownership, and we were told that some of us might not have a job when the new owner took over. People had a bad attitude and they were rude to the customers and most of them did not care.
My supervisor decided that it was not fair to the customers for us to act that way. He started a contest on who had answered the most phone calls during the week. At the end of the week he would treat that person to lunch or they could leave one hour earlier on Friday.
The morale turned around completely, worker were jumping to answer the phones. I had a sign on my desk "Money Is Calling, do you need any today? If so, answer the phone before they do.
When the new owner took over he hired three more people for our department. He said that we had been overworked and underpaid.
I stayed with that company for seven years because the morale was so great. We had a bowling team, baseball team, pot lucks once a month, group concerts tickets that the owner paid for, etc.

wow, I used to feel the same way when I worked in a call center for 4 years. I really thought I was having a nervous breakdown before and during work. I was at the point where I just wanted to hang up on people. It was really bad. If you can't find solace through prayer, try fun activities at work. If your company allows it, you guys should have a food day. Everyone always loved that. Everyone would volunteer to bring in a dish and pig out. Organize raffles to win money. We used to do 50/50's. Prizes can be leaving an hour early or coming in an hour late w/pay. Sending trivia via email to your department and offering prizes for the winner(s). Try not to let it kill ya!

Is your company making moves to correct it or are they going through the motions? You can try looking for solutions yourself and summit them (solve the problem and you might get a raise or bonus) or, If it is a major issue, ask that a specific person be set to handle the inquiries. Explain to your boss this situation, telling him that you love your job, but this is effecting all of you in your attitudes towards work. Communication is the Key.

If you are a Christian, you can give yourself / post little reminders that everything you do is to be done as if you are doing it for the Lord. Money alone is often a poor incentive for a good attitude.
Additionally, you can do things that let you know how fortunate you are to have a job in a country that is free. Thinking about the people who don't have what we have is a quick way to be grateful that you ate three times today, slept in a bed, have toilet paper, and aren't being spied on by the ruling party.
