Is it worth it to harbor bad feelings for someone for so many years? Life is too short to stay angry forever. It's best just to let the past die and to continue looking forward with a smile on your face instead of a knot in your brow.

Holding a grudge benefits no one especially the person holding it. It can make you nervous, ruin your health, and just plain change the person you are, let it go, life's is too short as it is.

some people are destined to hold grudges though. It's like they can't let go even if logically they know they should. I think it's a personality trait. The longest I have personally ever been able to hold a grudge was about a month, and then even though a part of me was still angry, I felt my heart just naturally letting go of the anger. It's like being angry is too hard on my body. I guess I should be grateful for that, but for other people like my brother he still HATES people passionately (like my mother) for things he imagined she did when he was 12 years old. It's weird.

yes, i have a tendancy to hold grudges i can't seem to help it. i don't have any really long standing grudges but they can last for months at a time if they are bad but usually only a few days. the thing that makes the grudge last is if the person who it is against is making things worse. i resent my parents for how they've treated me especially for the last 6 years and the reason why i still sort of have a grudge against them is because they won't leave me alone but they won't do anything to make things better, they don;t want to make an effort to change things they just expect me to get along with them and pretend like everything's alright.

when i do get over a grudge in most cases it's not so much a "forgive and forget" state of mind unless the person has done something to make up for what they did, if they wronged me then i might be nice to them the next time i see them or i might not it all depends on how i receive their presence and how they receive mine and what they did. on most cases it's more of a "i don't hold any resentment towards you anymore but that doesn't mean i like you again either" sort of position is take and i just prefer to not see them anymore. like i say it depends on what they did if they did something to screw me over then i'll be more spiteful but i am capable of being friendly to a person i had a grudge against but usually that means we had a minor disagreement or misunderstanding, or they did something to make things alright again, i'm not an unforgiving person but if i was wronged it's not up to me to make things right it's up to the other perosn to make the effort

Oh no, never. Sometimes I just can't bear to even look at my wife [it would be a strange marriage where that never happened] but I don't hold a grudge or bear any hard feelings. I just don't want to [at the time *ever*] look at her again. But it's normally over in about 10 - 30 mins. Haha, and the squeezing and hugging starts all over again.

Sad to say, that a member of my family will hold a grudge until they die! Always looking to take umbridge, forgiveness is only ever extended by them if the offender grovels and apologizes, and of course this cannot be done indefinately when the offence is trivial and blown out of propotion, or completely imagined.
This family member has lost out on years of association will their own father, 2 sisters and their husbands & niece, a brother and his wife, a son, two daughters (one is me) and 2 sons-in-law & six grandchildren. :o(

Yes, I am a grudge holder. I can hold out as long as anyone. If you're still mad at me, then I'm still mad too. I have one long standing grudge of 23 years and counting.

No, unless the offense was a total act of hatred.
Malicious acts to make yourself look good and others look bad qualify.
