Um, you're a pessimist...and I am not sure what definition of culture you are using. Culture, being more or less common does not make sense...because culture is where peple are...always had been.
if you are referencing people having a more 'common' culture with one another, then you may have something there.
If it is worse or not....then I have to ask, "compared to what?"

Yes, everyone seems to be, or aspires to be, a celebrity of some minor description. This is demeaning to a country's culture.
America has won. It has managed to export its junk, throw-away culture to the rest of the world.
