He could be the Republican's best bet, but I'm not sure America will vote another Republican to president this time around... The last one (current one) sort of tarnished things a bit.
Rudy won't be president unless he has some sort of plan for Iraq that is head and shoulders above what any Democrat has laid out. It's issue #1 for this election.
Aside from this.. the 2-party system is quite ridiculous. Why must a candidate affiliate themselves with one party or the other. Both parties are weak-minded and have great conflicts and contradiction in their logic when presenting their stances on just about every issue. When will we vote for someone who isn't on TV or mainstream media? When will we vote for someone because they are truly honest and truly make sense?
This is only my opinion, but it seems we've been duped for quite a while into thinking our vote matters. Our vote doesn't matter nearly as much as where our information comes from.

I would vote for him...he seems to have some good views...not all Conservatives are hung up on abortion and gay rights...I could care less if gays get married or not...I am not too sure on abortion...but I feel if a woman can opt out on a pregnancy that a man should have the same right...I think that would stop a lot of women just having kids, if they know they might not get child support...I just can not stand behind Liberals on their view of abortion...it is OK to kill babies, zygotes, or whatever...but you should not kill murders...now that does not make sense...

Rudy is almost as liberal a republican as you can find. Rudy favors draconian gun control, which I am opposed to. Still, if it came down between Rudy and Hillary.....I'll dig a hole in the back yard to hide my guns, and vote for rudy

Not for winning the Republican nomination. For one thing, he does not have nearly the organization that McCain and Romney have in the early primary states. He needs to get moving quickly if he wants a realistic chance at the nomination at all. He's also too socially liberal (or moderate) for the Republican base.
From what I know, I think he'd be a pretty good president.

I think so. I hope so. I'd vote for him. I also think that because he's more socially liberal, he can gain a lot of the Democratic base. And then he's moderate enough to gain much of the Republican base.
He's an effective leader, strong, charismatic, decisive, and SMART.
Perfect candidate. I hope he does run.

no. no. and uh.... no. take away his performance surrounding 9/11 (which were quite commendable... i'm not trying to detract)... but take away his image as an icon of a national tragedyu, and then do you still feel the same? does he have the vision/experience/personality/skills to run this country.. or rather, these days, to fix this country? that would be a big fat no.

He'll never get the Republican nomination. He's pro choice and pro gay rights. The republican party has held the opposing view on those two issues for years.
