i just bought a hunting knife from singarms in beach road. although the owner claims that the knife was first hand, i had my doubts since it's badly rusted (an old knife) and has lots of scratch marks (evidence that suggests it's in fact, second hand). still i bought it because it has such a fine blade for a low price (due to the rust, maybe??). even got some old novels from sungei road.
call me superstitious and/or paranoid, but what are the chances of such objects being haunted or cursed??

Weird! I would have never thought of such a thing, but when you think about it, if anything were haunted or cursed, a knife would be a good bet. It's a lot portable than a house, and has the potential to do harm in the wrong hands.

I think you have the germ of a novel.

Do not worry so much about spells and curses instead worry that an evil spirit may be attached to this item.

Any item you buy second hand can have evil attached or even good spirits and you can bring them into your home. Make sure your home is full of Gods light. Because Gods light and love is more powerful than any evil spirit.

I have heard of cases where people brought them home and then bad things began to happen. They got bad luck, lost jobs, became depressed, argued with loved ones, broke bones, went bankkrupt and such. The evil spirit will do everything in his power to bring your down. If this knife was used to kill, the users spirit could be attached or even the one killed could be attached. It is not something to take lightly. Many times souls get trapped on this earth plane when they die suddenly, violently, or in a brutal way. They do not pass to the light (heaven). They wish to retaliate.
These are not as bad as the evil spirits who will viciously try to ruin your life and pull you away from God and his light.

Here are my suggestions:
Get rid of the item if you notice changes in you life or activity
with it. Bury it far from your home under the dirt.
Clense your home by doing a "blessing". Yes you can do this
yourself without help. You spread tobacco in a circle
around your home. You burn a dish of tobacco in the center
of the home and bless the home. Fill it with Gods Love and
Light. Face each direction (N S E W) and ask the home to fill
with Love and Light and ask any evil to leave in the name of
God. Walk through the home with the tobacco burning. Put
up a cross to keep evil out. I did this with a home I was selling
and as soon as I clensed it I sold it in one week. It was so
amazing. My instructor told me how to do this blessing
Ask God to come into your life and home.

You will be surprised that God has power over any evil all you have to do is ask.

i think its entirely possible, but i also believe a curse can only effect you if you believe such a thing is possible. Either that or maybe the knife was once used to kill someone, which could make it possible to be what some people call "haunted".

Chances are low, but why risk it? The suggestions Reiki Chick gave you are the same ones I've heard/read. Even if an item isn't "cursed," it will often carry residual energy from whoever owned it before. Do a good cleansing and you can use it without worrying about someone else's spiritual baggage.

I suppose there is a chance that it could be haunted or cursed, but that is very unlikely. If anything it probably just has some negative energy attached to it from the previous owner.

If you want to 'clean' it, there are a few methods to consider. The first is to bury it in sea salt for about 24 hours. The second is to hold it under running water for a few minutes. Or you could leave it in a window sill where it will be in the daylight, moon light for a couple of days.

All of those will help to remove any negative energy attached it it.

Lastly, try not to think too much about any negativity that could be attached to it as that will just give strength to anything negative that is attached to it.

I hope that helps! :)

Probably not, Curses are used on individuals with different powders and oils and such. Haunted...Couldn't tell ya. not likely. But putting it in Salt, running water or maybe a blessing oil, will help, and won't hurt if it's precautionary. But anyway, chances are practically nil. :)

Why do the people who answer this stuff that think it's all BS even read this board? Just to get points by saying stupid crap?

Anyway, yes, the items could have a residue on them from whatever they were used for or used by, absolutely. Just clense them before using them, especially the knife, even if your not sure, better safe than sorry. Use she smoke from white sage, sea salt and moonlight.

The chances are nil, since there is no such thing as something being haunted or cursed.

If you are really worried, just say a prayer asking it to be clean... the Good Book says that God has all power over evil...that should take care of any problem whatsoever.

Chances are slim...but do't tun your back on them...they may be tricky and lulling you into a false sense of security...

yeah, probably not haunted or cursed.
