It is really up to the person that is sending them, but you should send a christmas card to someone because you want to wish them a Merry Christmas, and not for any other reason..

No, I send cards every year to close friends and to friends of my Mom who can no longer send her own. The list tends to be the same each year.

xmas is a time of merriment and hapiness, so it is good to send cards to as many as you can or know whether they send you or not. this is the true love and right feeling for xmas

i think you should send them to everyone you care for and love...not everyone can get cards to send out ....they may not be able to send you one but they still love you or whatever the reason....but i think everyone should get one....im too lazy to send any out ....i usually call....i feel you can hear the love in their voices....lol

Yes, if they are mere acquaintances (not real friends).
No point wasting cards and postage on people who don't acknowledge your existence.
