I have to do a project about any type of significant event that happenned in Tennessee, I don't have any ideas and I need one A.S.A.P. It has to occur in a specific city, in Tennesse, and it could only last for a day. Tennessee settlers played a vital part in winning the American Revolutionary War. The "Overmountain Men" helped to defeat the British at the Battle of King's Mountain, a victory which proved to be a major turning point in the war.

The city of Kingston served as Tennessee's state capital for one day (September 21, 1807) as a result of treaties negotiated with the Cherokee Indians. The two-hour legislative session passed two resolutions and adjourned back to Knoxville.
Memphis, at the Lorraine Motel where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was slain in 1968.
