Well you will have to send it back to Microsoft and yes considering a ps3 is a good choice.

I have had mine for almost a year now, I still haven't had any problems with mine and I have been pushing it to the extreme by playing Gears of War for long hours, then my sister logging on and playing Viva Pinata for an hour or so. I think there is the odd buggy unit, and I think looking into a repair would be much wiser than getting a PS3.
PS3's have been quoted by many magazines as the biggest failure of 2006, gamers are turning against them slowly as time goes on, and most of the current units are all buggy.
Perhaps a stern letter to Microsoft threatening that they will lose you as a customer, but yet not in a demeaning or aggressive way. Try and play it out as if you loved the Xbox 360, and were very happy with it, but they already replaced it once and its already broken and you're very upset with their service--and if they can't improve it then you will look elsewhere for a video game experience.
Hope that helps!

The number of red lights in the circle (ranging from one to four) are an indicator as to the nature of the problem. If all four are lit then it is simply a connection problem with your cables. If two are lit then your Xbox 360 is overheating and you need to turn it off for a while to cool it down. If one or three are lit then you have a hardware problem, and you need to ship your console to a repair centre. I found them very helpful - my Xbox was returned to me repaired within a week!

We've never had a problem with our 360 however, when my boyfriend and I were setting my brothers up to go online, he moved the console downstairs and it did the same thing, red flashing circle instead of green.
Believe it or not it was something simple - one of the plugs was a bit loose at the back so check your connections if you haven't already done so.

My bro is on his second 360 and it has crashed twice already.
Personally, I'm very pleased with my Wii, no probs there, Nintendo systems are known to be built to last! :-) Plus it offers a gaming experience you just can't get anywhere else.
(PS2 and 360 are the two least reliable systems of all time!) I bet the PS3 will be just as bad, even with it's £450 price tag...
