Even if Ohio St. wins, Boise gets my vote. The Buckeyes could not have come back the way they did. They showed ultimate guts and resolve.

Luck had NOTHING to do with Boise State's victory. They refused to give up and played a solid game.
If you want to talk about luck, look at OSU's 17-10 win over the 2 and 10 Fighting Illini.

Yes, Boise State should be the national champions. Until a playoff system is established, they have as much claim to the title as anyone.

In reading these answers I couldn't help but get irritated! If Florida beats Ohio St. then Boise St. probably will not win the National Championship. Do they deserve it probably not. I watched the game, and all of you on here saying that Boise State got lucky or they barely won, didn't watch the game. Yes they barely won, but they absolutely had complete control of the game! From the time they put points on the board OU never looked to be deserving of beating a team which appeared better! OU tied the game, and then took the lead on an interception. That is great, but it wasn't over at that point. If you watched the highlights and said BSU only won because of a fluke "hook-and-ladder" then you missed a hell of a game!

Boise State opened a ton of eyes, and I love it! I give Boise State 2 years to step it up. I don't care what conference they are in, the non conference games need to be tougher! Hawaii, and Oregon State are a good start, but in that conference they need to play 4 strong non conference games! If after these next 2 years the strength of schedule don't show improvement, then no more BCS for a team that can easily go undefeated in conference every year. Boise State belongs in the WAC like Michigan belongs on the same field with USC in the Rose Bowl!!! Screw you I am a Michigan Fan!!! They were unworthy of that game, we should apologize to USC!!!!

No for the following reasons. Especially if Ohio State wins. If Ohio State wins, it's hands down OSU because of who they've beaten. If Ohio state loses, then it should be a split between Florida and USC.

Boise State shouldn't get it because:

1) Strength of schedule, how many top ten teams did Boise St. play and win? How many of their opponents played a top 25 team and won?

2) With the schedule BSU had, how many other teams could go 12-0? I can think of quite a few teams. USC, Michigan, ND, Florida, Auburn, Texas, Ohio St. and the list would go on.

3) If you want to be taken seriously, start scheduling teams inside of the SEC or Big 10. To go undefeated through a Big 10 or SEC conference is a lot more difficult than in a WAC conference. Stop playing cream puffs and step up to the real deal.

4) Playing Oklahoma and beating them is a true feat, however get some more top 25 teams on the schedule. What's one thing that all national champ teams have in common? They play ranked teams through the year. Most of them have played at least two top ten ranked teams at any given time during the season. Shutting out Sacramento State (4-7) 55 - 0 does not rank as a high quality win, considering Sacramento State also lost to Montana, Northern Arizona, and UC Davis.

5) Play some SEC teams, rally behind your team to get some quality teams scheduled or else you'll always be on the outside looking in from a national title hopes perspective.

6) Could BSU hang with more teams? Yes they could; however would they be able to take a week in and out beating from high speed, hard hitting defenses? OU scored the most points against the BSU defense this year. Give your offense the credit for keeping that game close. That is the principle reason why I don't think that BSU could hang with Ohio St, USC, Michigan, or Florida. The defenses are a heck of lot quicker, they run more NFL style defensive sets, but most importantly, top ranked offenses against the BSU defense would result in a massive scoring blitz. One thing that BSU does not have is a high powered defense.

The simple answer is NO. Boise State did not play a schedule that even closely resembles that of Florida or Ohio State.. They should get what they already have, a football trophy and braggibg rights for the year. All teams show guts and resolve, heart and soul. Some just win, while others lose. Little Boise State got a great big pat on the back and is now more or less a bigger spot on the map.

I think Boise State should be the National Champ if Florida wins. I don't care what conference a team is in... when it goes undefeated, it is very impressive. After beating Oklahoma (which has one of the best football programs in the country), Boise State should be ranked #1 or #2, depending on the outcome of the Ohio State- Florida game. I don't think Boise State could beat Ohio State, but then again, I didn't think they could beat Oklahoma.

Boise is a great team and all but it is not like they beat a top 5 team in Oklahoma, the sooners quarterback is not that good and all they have is a really good running back, yah Boise did an excellent job and a give them all of the credit in the world for the great game that they played but they are not in the discussions for the national championship.

Because not only are they a national title contender every year, but ever since 2002, usc has landed superb recruting classes. actually, since that time, no one has a better overall class than usc. for example, since 2002-present, some guys were reggie bush, lendale white, brian cushing, dwayne jarrett...just to name a few. and look at it this year, usc didn't have many scholarships to give out this time. so they recruited a pretty small class by their standards...i think 18 guys compared to florida and everyone else who had 25+ recruits. Florida nearly had 30 recruits. nothing against the gators, because they are one hell of a program and are now the USC of the East. it also helps that usc lands quality players...look at this year, averaging 10 less recruits than the top 25 teams in the recruiting race and landing at number 2. basically, when it comes to recruiting, usc has been the standard that most programs try to follow the past couple of years....

You could make a case for them being co-champs or something, but the BCS Title game is #1 vs #2, not #1 vs #2 but if #2 has a loss and there's an undefeated team from a weaker conference they become National Champs.

I'd like Boise St. to become champs just as much as everybody else who hates Oklahoma, but it just wont happen. It'll be interesting to see what happens if UF beats tOSU and BSU is the only undefeated team.

Boise State could not win a single BCS conference. How can beating nobodys and knocking off a sub-par OU team in overtime give you a title. Boise State in the SEC would be 8-4 at the very best.

Considering who Boise State played during the year to get that undefeated record.....NO. They should have no national title hopes.
