The French Gov made a decisive move by placing their heads under the quilt and not coming out of the bed until other Govs sorted out the world problems
(not totally true as they did come out from time to time to sell arms and military secrets to terrorists)

they saw the the war on iraq and afganistan for what it is and steped back . 9/11 was an inside job , 7/7 doesnt add up . these were false flag operations 9/11 was as a pre text to go to war ,the war on terror is a total sham ,all it has done is give the radical islamists (the enemy) more support . so now we know that the bad guys are still the bad guys yet the good guys are oh so worse and manipulating eveyone globally .

The French government was correct for opposing the Iraqi war.
As it turned out, all the WMD that Powell told the UN that Iraqi had was false and as were all the claims by the US. The French were correct there but were criticized in the US as being soft. I remember in the US where someone changed the name of French Frys to Freedom Frys. Don't buy anything French, I remember!!
The French are a part of the UN which has sanctioned NATO in Afganistan. While they may not be on the front lines, they have appeared to make wise decisions and have not be bullied into getting into a war that should have never happened and was never authorized by the UN.

They supply guns, rockets, and grenades to Islamic dictators and then make sure any UN resolutions calling for sanctions is so watered down that the same dictators along with well placed French politicians can make a lot of money on the black market (IE Oil for food).

FYI, they are in Afghanistan since 2003 and for several years in Kosovo, Ivory coast and Congo + now in Lebanon with some thing like 20 000 troops outside.
War of terror in Irak was not the right place, that is why they are not there.
