I started loosing what I THINK is my mucus plug lastnight (this is my second pregnancy).. I go though a period where I loose this bloody thing, and then I'm fine, then I loose what looks to the same thing, AGAIN a couple hours later.. It's quite a bit of fusiah/pink blood, that turns to brown, mixed with a yellow goo of sorts. I've been having pains in my back and lower belly- however, it doesn't get stronger. Also, when the baby moves I experience a LOT of pain "DOWN THERE (I assume this is pressure)." I didn't go though this with my son. I also just got out of the hospital (After being there 2 months) for pre-term labor- but I'm now 37 weeks. I've had 2 doese of steriods, and been on mag twice.. Just a little paranoid... Help?

Please stay calm and go to the ER. It is better to be safe.

You need to call your doctor before you just rush to the hospital and inform her/him of what your feeling then tell him/her what you have seen you don't even have to call your doctor call the labor and delivery department at your hospital.Take their advice trust me it's better than anything
anyone on the internet can tell you.
MAKE SURE YOU CALL, therefore if it's not that serious they can tell you what you can do to relieve your
"pressure pains". Today I am officailly 8 months and I'm having pressure pains and have not lost my mucus plug
yet. I know some techniques to relieve them though. you can take a warm shower not too hot. luke warm it will make you feel better, Drink a glass of clear juice or water and lay on your left side. If that doesn't work still drink the water or juice and try laying on your left side on a pillow either between your legs. If none of this works and the pains start to hurt more and come and go thats contractions and you should call your doctor and go straight to the hospital.

If nothing that I said works if you choose to take my advice ,and You are still experiencing the blood you really need to go to the hospital. But honsetly you will see some bloody discharge when you lose your mucus plug.
It's normal the viens that help hold it in place in your birth canal (I think that's the best way of putting that) tend to stretch and your getting ready to start dialating so the yellow goo/ brownish discharge you will start to see often.

37 weeks is considered full term , so dont worry about it. If you go into labor now you will both be healthy. Especially since you had the dose of steroids for the baby. I had my 3rd son at 34 weeks and he was completely healthy and we both went home 2 days later. Now Im 28 weeks pregnant and I had to have steroid shots a couple of weeks ago because Im already progressing . Im very paranoid too, so every tiny little thing that happens to me, Im wondernig what is wrong , and this is my 4th baby!..:) And yes those pains you are feeling is just the baby because he is very low and ready to come. I went through that with my 3rd and once I started feeling that pain he came around 2 weeks later. Good Luck with everything:)

First, do not freak out. You are considered fullterm enough that if labor were to start the baby should be developed enough.

Second, is there a pattern to your contractions? Are they moving from back to front? Do they come closer together over time? Do they get stronger?

If no, don't go just yet. Call your doctor and tell him what is going on.

If the pain gets worse, or the contractions get strong, GO.

was this mucus plug fuschia and jelly like? if so then you going into labour aint far away. But I wouldnt leave it too long, like days and days before contacting your midwife cos while this plug is out, you could get an infection as there is nothing blocking the cervix to your baby. If it was me i'd telephone the midwife anyway just for advice. But they might want you in so they can monitor you and if need be break your waters to get things going. Good luck hun

I had the same problem. I was bleeding pretty bad and ran right to the ER. I was freaking out. Its normal. You may want to go just to get "checked" They may send you home and tell you to wait till you feel contractions. I went to the OB 4 times before they actually keep me. It was my first and it was always better safe than sorry!

call your doctor and talk to him about it. If he wants to see you at the L&D unit then go. If he says call the clinic and be seen there then do that.

It should be brought to your doctor's attention. If he's not worried, then try to rest. You should be seen weekly anyway since you are within the last 3 weeks now.

Considering you've already experience pre-term labor, I think it would be best to call your doctor.

I would go in. Sounds like early stages of labor.
