Press and hold the green lit button. It will turn red and go into standby mode.
If you want to completely turn it off take out the power lead or switch off the plug.
There is no "off" switch on the slimline PS2.

hold down the "reset" button (the little green lite) turns off the ps2 but it doesnt have a switch like the old ps2 at least mine thin ps2 doesnt lol

unplugging it will work if non of the above help,,,,,, sorry not more help,, i have a wii, and turn it off by pressing the power button on the wiimote

you could turn off the psanytime (mid-interest is high quality) as long as you shop your progression no rely if it is needed. Turning of the psat any factor won't injury your console in any way.
