How was he hurt and what is he in jail for? It has to be hard to have a relationship with someone who is in jail. Maybe you should have waited until he got out to see if your feelings were the same for him. But now you know you have changed and you want different things. How soon does he get out? If it's soon, maybe you can give it a try just to see if it works since he'll be on the outside. But if he is still looking at some serious time, you need to take care of your own needs. It's really hard being in love and not being able to receive that love and affection everyday.

Did you say that you got married when he went to jail? What were you thinking? Most people marry someone because of the qualities the person possesses that they love. I just don't see how doing hard time makes you want to marry a man. In any case, you did marry him and promise to remain married "for better or for worse". With a husband in jail, the good news is that things can only get better!

When does he get out of jail?
The main point of the situation are the children. You do not want to break up another family simply because you are bored with him. This is not fair to the kids that need a stable environment. You need to work on keeping this marriage alive. He is limited to what he can do because he is locked up. You chose him as your husband even though he'd be gone for awhile. Get help from counselling, self-help relationship books, etc. so the kids don't have to be drug through another drama thing.

sometimes the sun will soar across a clear blue sky in the middle of Winter, but appearances can be deceiving. You know it's Winter, and could develop into bad weather at any moment. You also know that it's safe inside, but if you get in Mama's way, or complain it's boring, she will smack you. And you know that if you ask to go outside, she will likely say no because it's too dangerous and she wants to protect you.
Do you want to go outside to play with friends, or stay indoors?
Do you ask for permission to play, or just go and hope she doesn't notice your gone?

Move on. But make sure he still gets to see his child even though you may have the custody. There are several decent males out there. Start a new life.
