I need a thermometer that can measure extreme heat conditions for a low price. I live in miami and would prefer to get it from a retail store.

You didnt give any information about what range of temperatures but here are a couple of suggestions. One place that you might check is a crafts store that sells pottery ovens or kilns. These ovens must attain high temperatures to properly heat the pottery and will often have thermometers that reach to 1000 or 2000 F. Another source would be companies that make steel or other metals. These ovens are also very hot and would require a thermometer or measuring device in the 2000 -4000 C ranges.
Thermometers that measure in the 250C range can be found in most scientific catalogues.

Hello; How extreme ? you may be able to use a cooking thermometer. I have a digital thermometer, thermistors that will read to 2000 deg.+ F or C, you can get different probes for what kind of things you want to measure, fluid or surface. you may have to buy them from a industrial place.
