I'm in SoCal and the going rate to clean homes is $10 per hour. Some house cleaners charge by the square footage of the house or whether it is a single or two story home. Those who can speak and read English command a higher price, too. Most do not charge extra to do laundry while they are cleaning.

I make $20 an hour cleaning houses in my small town. I know the surrounding communities are about the same. Hope this helps.
