No one should begrudge you some time to yourself and with friends, but it is a little unusually to be away from a baby that young over night. I didn't spend a night away from my daughter until she was 4 years old! Still, a lot of mothers work at night and someone else is with the baby. About the drinking- I didn't drink much when my daughter was young because I was always afraid that she was going to get sick or be injured and I'd be rushing to the emergency room. I didn't want to not be able to drive or not be in condition to make good decisions. Having a drink at a party isn't a problem, but being "faded"? Not sure what that means, but it's probably better not to boast about it on Facebook! It makes me wonder about your maturity, too.

there maybe resources which you can tap into where you live also. she's most likely on the defense because of receiving verbal or physical abuse by peers. she does not have to cave in to peer pressure to fit in or parental pressures to conform. you have to establish clear communication w/ openness & understanding. do not judge or put conditions on your love & acceptance. realizing that everyone has been touched by different events & problems. that the ones lashing out have insecurities & issues that they are not acknowledging themself. we would all be happier with a solid support system & true communication. it is taking the steps & effort to make your lives closer & continually growing with eachother which is important. these things take time to achieve results. wish you & your family the best for positive changes in 2007.

I would sit her down and listen to the reasons why she thinks she has to be. Show her there are other ways to stress her views, opinions without the def attitude so she can switch over to living more positively, and eventually winning over a few friends

u may be going through a difficult time.
its not easy to bring up a child.
well, if u r NF friendly then do talk to her. try to change her attitude, if this does not work then try to teach her a lesson by showing her a little attitude.

You need to find out why she is so defensive, someone may have done something to her. As her parent you need to find out what it is, before worrying about why she can not make friends.

Find out what's gotten her so defensive, by LISTENING to what SHE has to say. Don't advise, just yet. Be there to listen first.
