Curiosity! Free !?! Everyone has a freebie thing. Look at all the websites and books out there! This is one of the best ways to experience new music...... Play teasers of it in the background as you hand them out....if in a cafe, you could give 10% off next order if they bring in a review of the music, make it fun and theme the reviews, would you say this is a one espresso song or a five espresso song? (stars more the better)

I think it depends on the person distributing the cd
let's say i hate rock ...... and some metal freak is distributing it i wouldnt take it........
but if I have time and it's free why not listen to it
though what really makes me wanna listen the cd is the cover ..... I know you shouldnt judge a book by its cover .... but it the cover tells you a lot about the book/cd

The fact that it's free. Also, if the music played in the bar/cafe was by them would also encourage me.
Also, if anything else, CD's make excellent coasters for hot drinks ;)

Yes I would. There were a similar thing at Reading Festival last year. There was a tent just handing out loads of free music CD's by some promotion company, and yes I did listen to them.

why not try it.. you never know you may like the music. if yyou dont so what you've heard soemthign different
the only issues Id have are security
you dont know what else may be on the CD, so id play it in a CD player not a computer, just in case it has a virus or other problem. Even thouigh I riun firewall & antivirus I'm still cautious about what I put into my computer, or what I connect to

why not.. for a start its free.. and also i have a lot of respect for people doing it that way as to get signed and have a manager and have it all done properly can cost thousands of pounds before the artist sees anything ... so i would pick it up to encourage it :)

I think the fact its free would be a good start.
An eye catching design, slogan or image on the front would make me remember that I had it, rather than it disappearing into my handbag never to see the light of day again!
Good luck! x

Well, for a start, because it's free.
I'll give anything a listen and if I think it's good, it's something new to put to air.
If I liked it, I would definately encourage others to give it a go.

Artwork on the front is always a good advertisement,
try using association &connotations of the genre the music is trying to convey :]
So that if it's indie music, a dance fan doesn't get a nasty surprise when it goes in the stereo.

My tip would be to list the influences of the artist on the front. If I know the music is influenced by my favourite artists I would be more inclined to listen to it.
