Politics is purely for the elite, we are just mere spectators in their games of power. We have no say in the things that matter, never have had and never will have. Public influence in government policy has been marginalized and made passive by successive administrations since Washington. Your Romanesque Empire is already a reality.

Campaigning, advertising, canted media coverage... it's all a play on our emotions. As long as we have a nation that watches TV for as many hours as they work and think they're entitled to free healthcare, campaigning will be around long after we're gone and people will still vote for the best looking guys with the silverest of tongues.

Boy! do we need a solution here. Have you ever tried to find FACTS during a campaign? Can you imagine the improvements we could make in education and healthcare with the $ we spend on balloons and confetti? I wish someone would publish a barefacts info sheet on candidates & let us choose based on reality.
