if a truck i am driving is overweight could i get points on my license if was stopped? this is mainly for my partner as i dont drive !

It is your partners responsibility to make sure what he is hauling is legal. If he gets a ticket for that then yes he could. Alot of companies will have you drive stuff knowing that the weight is over. You can argu, but then you probably won't get many runs. My husband of 20 years has always driven and has complained of the way companies want you to work. Broken down trucks, trailers, overweight, you name it. But ultimately, it is your responsibility to check the weight. And everything else as you are the one driving. My husband goes to a CAT scale and has his weighed himself. If it is not right, he goes back and makes them fix it. Luckily, it is right next door where he works.

points ,NO -but in some states the insurance companies can see the tickets and raise your rates but in others they can see the tickets but disregard them as commercial vehicle operation.some of the answer depends on the state his CDL is from
