I think it may be time. Look at the last two games, the defensive backs start off the line of scrimage at least ten yards which in turn helped with usc/osu pass attack. Offense needed coaching too, have you ever heard of using the pass to set up the run? Well if USC is bringing everybody on a blitz again and again and again and again, maybe putting Henne back in shotgun may have done a little something for some slant passes and then maybe a draw play to follow. The biggest disappointment was the lack of adjustments at halftime. Its frustrating to see Loyd Carr's team self destruct again and again just because he doesn't do his homework.

i think youre exactly right. on paper the teams were evenly matched. both have good qbs, both have great wrs, both have great Ds, MI had the advantage in the running game...but lloyd carr coaching has been dismal, at best, in big games. 3 years in a row losing to OH ST and theyre bowl game. over all under .500 in bowl appearances and against OH ST. the goal is always beat your rival, and win your bowl. lloyd carr cant do either...hes a good coach but maybe its time to evaluate where they stand with him as coach...

for every one that wants to make the excuse that MI had 5 weeks off so they were "RUSTY" think about this...THE SCORE WAS 3 TO 3 AT THE HALF!!!!!! USC CAME OUT AND MADE BETTER ADJUSTMENTS AT THE HALF, AND WON THE GAME IN THE 3rd AND 4th QUATERS!!! NO EXCUSES, MI GOT OUT PLAYED AND OUT COACHED IN THE 2cd HALF...END OF STORY!

As far as the Ohio State games goes, they lost to a better team. Ohio State was better, not much better but just enough to win...
The USC game however is a different story. Look, Michigan hadn't played in over a month (five weeks actually). Their timing was way off until it didn't even matter anymore. USC had a game a little over 2 weeks earlier. They were rusty too but you could see them shake it off much faster than Michigan.
College football is just screwed up in general, no playoffs, no consistent schedules. Some teams end in Nov, some go into late Dec. Some have conference championships that help their bcs situation, some don't. What the NCAA needs to do is make the whole thing more like NCAA basketball. Make the conferences act the same whether it is the Big 12 or the MAC starting at the same time and ending the same week. Have a bowl series playoff or plus one system or something. Have every conference have a championship game.

Im not sure why you're questioning him, they almost beat the unquestionably best team in the nation this year, other than Ohio State they ran the table in whats probably the best conference in the country, so what if they lost those games, Its not like USC and Ohio State are bad teams or anything, give the guy a break, besides, you think hes doin such a bad job lets see you guys do a better one. The Michigan offensive line didnt give Henne enough time to set his feet and throw at all...I remember maybe 3 times all game...and they didnt exactly give Hart big holes to run thru, you wanna blame anybody blame them

Im not sure I see here where you think Im making excuse, maybe your dyslexic or something and can't read...in either case I'll put this plainly ^^Up there is NOT EXCUSES They are reasons why it was NOT CARR'S fault, if i was going to make excuses there are alot better things than Michigans line getting outplayed....especially considering thats actually a compliment to USC's defensive line...so..yea I think maybe you should take some lessons in English Comprehension before you insult me again for crying and making excuses, neither of which I did...In fact one of my best friends is an english major im sure he'd be glad to help someone with such glaring deficiences as you

You proably have something of a point. As to using the pass to set up the run, yeah I have heard of doing it, although I think that is only when the run has been stopped. So you use some long passes so they have to back off the run coverage. Doing it at the start though, that is a strange way to play. Either that or you have a lot of confidence in your pass game and know that your run game doesn't seem to be doing much. He is coming off a good regular season. Thing is his team has lost three straight to OSU and three straight bowl games. In a QBs case that is usually seen as they can't win the big one. Yeah if you are struggling on the blitz you have to either go to shotgun or do quick routes. Also need to consider changing linesman and see if maybe one of the other guys and can block better. I watched some of that game between Michigan and USC and it was clear who was in charge of most of that game. I'm not a Michigan fan but if that was how they are normally outplayed in a sense and it wasn't just the better team then yeah they need to look for another coach.

I wouldn't mind seeing Les Miles get it but the thing is that the University of Michigan would have to pay 1.5 million dollars to get him because its in his contract at LSU. And that is what Lloyd Carr doesnt want is for the university to have to pay that. If Les Miles don't get it UM should go with a non-michigan person. Someone who has head coaching experience and is good coach with a winning record and well known. IMO

Adam,

Geeze, still crying and filled with loaded excuses....geeze. Just tip your hat for goodness sake.

Rabbi,

Is it the rest of the country's fault that the Big10 DOESN'T play a championship game? If RUST is your excuse, then write a letter to the Big10 for a championship game.....how lame.

Does this mean if the Gators lose they can say they were rusty. What about Ohio State? They've had the longest layoff....you gonna start making excuses for them?

If you want respect, then you must be galant in victory and especially galant in defeat.

Note to Michigan fans and coaches if you are going to get a QB from the state of California, make sure he is mobile.

That's what the pundits believe also. UM has so much talent they don't think they have to make too many adjustments, just play better. I think that's become the difference between OSU and UM, Tressel will throw in a few wrinkles now and then, make better adjustments.
