You can't delete items without uninstalling the program, just hide them. Right click a blank space on the task bar and click properties. Then check the box that says 'Hide inactive icons' you can also use the customize button to change which ones appear and which ones don't.

click and drag while holding the Command (Apple) Key. You can re-arrange them as well and you can always put the items back up there once you have removed them.
