I had a friend that was drinking her first month and 8 month of her pregnancy. The baby was born 4 weeks early and had trouble breathing in the womb (heart beat was up and down) so they had to do a c-section. Baby came out fine but only weighed 6 lbs, which is a little small, he's tiny! I personally don't understand the need to drink while pregnant but i see a lot of women go through the same feelings that your having. I think it's best for the baby that you didn't drink until after the baby is born, think about it what if something happened and it could all been prevented by not having a drink. Wouldn't you feel terrible?! I know i couldn't live with myself. Some people say only one drink want do anything but we all know it's better not to. Try to get your mind off of it and get a hobby. Go walking, exercise or hang out with family that want let you drink. Maybe i'm rambling but i hope i've helped in some way. Take care!!

To be honest, if you crave beer that strongly that you would be willing to drink it while pregnant, I would say this is an addiction and you should get some help.
Some doctors do say that small amounts of alcohol might be ok, no one knows how much is too much and it's just not worth the risk. Don't do it. If it's the taste you're after there are non-alcoholic beers that might help and would be safe.

You need to remember that being a parent come with a lot of sacrifices. This is only 1 of thousand of things that you will have to give up for the better of your children. I am a mother of 2 with #3 coming in 2 days and I can not tell you all of the choices I have had to make in order for my children to be happy and healthy. However I can tell you that the things that we give up are all very worth it and we are payed back 1000 times over for it. Although your child may be fine if you drink while pregnant, your child may also have serious problems as well. I personally would not want to be responsible or have to live with that choice for the rest of my life.

There is no proven safe amount of alcohol during pregnancy.
That being said, if you're finished you first trimester, and you're still really craving a beer, get yourself a non-alcohol beer. You can buy them anywhere you buy beer.
Don't over-do it though, there is still a small amount of alcohol in them (between 0.5-0.8% usually) so don't go and drink a whole six-pack!
If your craving isn't really that stong though, I'd just skip the beer.
After all, 9 months without alcohol is really NOT such a big sacrifice when it comes to giving your baby the best chance at good health.
Good luck & congratulations.

if you do desire for an uncomplicated pregnancy and labor, and a newborn with average to above average birthweight, try avoiding beer. now, if you crave for it badly, i.e. just for the taste, try a drop of beer, a sip, maximum. that shouldn't do much harm, especially if you are over 10 weeks. usually (not all the time), your pregnant body takes care of 'harmful' dietary habit. With my pregnancy, I get sick whenever I come near alcohol, coffee, or cigarettes. And that's considering I like to drink, smoke occasionally, and a heavy coffee drinker =) Good luck.

The World Health Organisation recommends NO alcohol during pregnancy. Even small amounts can reduce your baby's IQ and possibly result in foetal alcohol syndrome. If you love the taste of beer, buy no alcohol beer.

Whatever you drink, your baby drinks - that's the bottom line. If you want your baby drinking beer, then go for it, but if I were you, I'd find something healthier.
