check the website for any firmware updates

Also scan you computer for spyware

Also Check the Value for the MTU in the setup page - get the correct value from Linksys support

You haven't suppplied a model number - But with one specific model there is a known issue just like the one you are experiencing and Linksys is still working on the fix

Hope this helps

I also use a linksys router and fortunately it works great most of the time :-) Through experience, I've found that the best way to work through an issue with the router is to contact linksys directly. Their technical support is free, easy to use, and solves the problem!

You can contact them by going to their website at Linksys.com and choosing "Support"

Good Luck!!!

Check the settings in the router and make sure that you have set the Connection Timeout as 0 (0=unlimited). I know with my belkin router that the connection is terminated once it passes the timeout time.

make sure your router is in decent distance from the wireless devices. Also try changing the frequence channel of the router.

Try getting in to the router. The address is probably on the bottom. On my Netgear it's http://192.168.0.1 . I type that in to Internet explorer and it asks for my user name and password. They are still the default admin and password respectively. Then I look for the log and mine drops all the time - but it's dropping the LCP. That is the Link Control Protocol and strange but there is no mention of it in Netgears knowledge base. But I Googled LCP down and loads of info came up. On my model people all over the world are compaining about LCP down problems on forums. That is obviously the tip of thhe iceberg and in the UK it is unlawful under the sale of goods act to sell good "unfit for their purpose". If your router is under warranty - send the bugger back! Then complain to Trading standards and the EU commision. They are obviously dumping in EU markets. Mine said the date was 2002. It has now connected to the Netgear server and it reads 2007. But that obviously shows they are selling routers that were programmed in 2002 - 5 years ago. hardly state of the art and in breach of EU law. US capitalism at it's finest! Design in the US, made in China, technical support in bloody India.
