Dont worry dear, different baby's speak at differnt time... My baby said the first word when she was 6 months that was NA.. means no.. and MOM.. it was really nice to hear that... now she speaks little words .. I mean something new everyday.. and believe me even if you are angry that word which they pronounce makes you smile..now she is 18 months old

my son was about 13 months old, he held his empty bottle up to me and said 'more' ..ill never forget it it was so sweet (hes almost 10 now)
most babies start to babble random sounds some of which sound like words (like mumumumumum can sound like mum n dududududud like dad!) from 5 or 6 months but itll be a while later they say anything intentionally as they have to develop the muscles in their mouths that are used for speech , this is done through learning to chew solids etc.

Four months is still too young to say anything, yet. I can't remember the exact age my daughter said her first word, I think it was around the age of 1 and she said mama. She is 14 now and talks non-stop LOL

my son is 16 mths old and hes says about 20-30 different words but it depends on the child by best friend has a child the same age and all he can says is mum and dad and thats it, so it depends on the child, but my sons first word was dad at about 4 - 5 mths old.

my daughter was 6 months and she said mamma and dadda after another. Every child is different alot say words between 6 to 9 months. your daughter will talk when shes ready, and when she does she wont stop. my son is 4 months aswell and he just blabbes sounds all day. dont expect to much to quickly, just enjoy her everyday, and you'll be suprised and amazed how quickly she'll grow.

My boy is 7 months and for the last month or so, he's been saying mumumumm, only when he is having a moan when I am changing him and he is tired. He does this every time. I am glad he says it, although sad it only happens when he is obviously telling me off. He says daddadadda, when he is in his walker, chilling. Whether these are coincidences or proper words, who knows. It is cute, regardless.

My daughter said the usual mama and dada but her first real word was "datsmine!" at around 14 months at her friends 1st birthday party while she was trying to retreive the present we'd bought her! Fortunately shes learnt to share since then! : )

4 month is way too early for a baby to say a word that makes sense. mine was 8 months and said a clear 'mama', but i could not really tell whether she was calling me or just a pure coincidence... give it time, enjoy your baby... soon you will be asking them to s..t up.
