For the lake - Your physical properties change slightly, ergo you get wet while the water is unaffected,

For the towel - They're one and the same. You're just re-worded it. You get dry AND the towel dries you. Either way you still end up dry so it's no different

We might rewrite the question: "Why is water wet?

The answer is that water isn't wet to everything. Glass doesn't think water is wet, neither does wax, or a bunch of other things.

But if the water molecules and your skin attract, for instance, than water will feel wet.
