I think it is possible that the conventional social structures that surround us today might gradually melt away and dissolve into obsoletion. There are more resources available now than ever before to live and enjoy life individually; more and more people are choosing to independently. This trend, I think, will eventually prevail over comforts and benefits of close-knit communal structures of the present. If not entirely than to a great extent, our social living is a direct derivative of our tribal past – needs to stick together for comfort, protection, information and leisure. In the future however people will be more suited and better equipped to live independently without any significant cultural references; they might have better realised sets of needs and enhanced spiritual pursuits rather than mere materialistic motives to define a life style or general living.
Futuristic trends like these are observable in developed societies of the world even today; people are better informed and opinionated than ever before; they are more interested in their personal development. The concepts like dispersed organisations are very well in place, where people can work from their home stations for an organisation that has no physical structure. But despite all this, I do not assume that we are ready for any sudden and cataclysmic shift in our social life to take place right now. And if something like this actually would happen then most of us will not be able to cope, others will have to change beyond the wildest of all imaginative possibilities; societies may regress completely into cave age living. There is just so much in the name of identity, assurance and comfort that we induce from our society, culture and from centuries old well-established traditions.

Oh yesssssssssss.....I have only to mislay my diary, which I keep all dates addresses and information for work and home, and I become a screaming sobbing mess!!! Sad aint it!
However to survive the collapse of society, I do not really know what I would so if I or my loved ones become threatened, the survival instinct may well kick in, I hope so!

few people realize how little food is immediately available to urban residents. if you live in a city, and 'it all fell apart', the food supplies would be immediately 'taken', and it would be foolish to depend upon a resupply within 30 days or less. cold fact: if you do not have a 60 Day supply of food available to every family member, you will most likely not survive.
no worries though, nothing like that will ever happen to us-right..?

ops, i think this question is more aimed at childless people!
you see i have 2 kids under 5 and i'm not even allowed to have a head ache!
although the idea of collapsing in a heap does appeal i would just have to get on with life.. i'v my kids to think of!
although i'm pretty certain my man would be completely lost with out the telly and the net!
