There are many breeds of algae eaters. Catfish and plecos are the most popular. even in those two families, your choices are endless. I have spiny plecos. They get huge!

Algae eater / Sucking loach
Common name(s): Algae eater, Sucking loach, Chinese algae eater, Indian algae eater
Scientific name : Gyrinocheilus aymonieri
SizeUp to 10" (25cm), but often smaller.
Origins are India and Thailand
Tank setupLarger community tank with bogwood and rocks for hiding places.
Compatibility : May become aggressive, particularly when older.
Water chemistry : Fairly soft, slightly acidic (pH 6-7) ideally, but not critical as a wide range is tolerated.
FeedingOmnivorous - will eat most aquarium foods, good algae eater when young.
Breeding :No detailed reports, have been bred commercially.
Comments : This fish is often purchased as an algae eater for smaller community tanks, for which it is not really suitable. Firstly, it grows larger than many realise, and secondly, it has a tendency to become aggressive when older. In the limited confines of a small tank, it may terrorise other aquarium inhabitants. In addition, they often become less inclined to eat algae as they grow, particularly if other food sources are available.

Dont rely on them to keep the glass completly clean.
But most catfish will do the job if they feel so inclined.
Also a 'plec'. Its one of a family of fish that will eat just about anything. Do take care because they can get quite big.
BTW There is a device available that will clean the glass. Its in two parts. The first is a small brush that is held to the glass by a magnet in the second part, on the other side of the glass. Easy to use and you dont have to get your hands wet.
.....and you dont get fish asking to get paid for window cleaning services. lol

The shark looking thing is a plecostamus also known as plecos, i have 3 in my 125 gallon tank. My oldest one is no joke 13 years old and slightly over a foot long, he likes algae wafers. My other two are around 3-4 years old and they like to float on their backs and eat the flakes off the top of the water.

Well I could be a smart **** like a few others on this web site but it is much easier for me to just tell the truth. Sucker fish. Bristlenose are the most common and you can get them from any good aquarium.
