I think it sucks. As an English person living in England i am treated like a second class citizen by our government and it makes me so damn angry. If your Asian or coloured in England you have more rights. It's not right and it's not fair but that's how it is.

I don't like racial discrimination but lets face it, it's always going to be around because there is always going to be people that think they are more superior than another group. I know the world is not perfect but if it was wouldn't be a boring world if everything was the same. Sooner or later the world will change along with the make up of peoples races and I think sooner or later we all will be mixed and it would be interesting to see if there will be still racial discrimination.

First I think the term is incorrect - as far as I know, there is only one race, the human race, and people of all colors and ethnic backgrounds are part of it. If the day ever comes when we meet another intelligent species from another planet, we will probably begin to practice racial discrimination, and I will probably be against it.
Here on earth, with our singlel race - we have to be careful about condemning discrimination. We discriminate when we look at a piece of fruit and decide it is rotten and not to be eaten. We discriminate when we see someone obviously very inebriated and take away their car keys.
Discrimination lets us get through the day.
Some of our decisions are based on bad information. (Oh don't trust him, he's a foreigner.)
Other kinds of discrimination are based on experience. (every time I go to visit that city I get into trouble.) That experience may be limited or skewed but it is ours.
I lived in NIgeria for twelve years. I love Nigerians, and I love the country.
However - when dealing with a Nigerian, I have a certain amount of initial distrust. I am very careful - based on twelve year's experience.
Discrimination? A fact of life. We need to be careful on how we apply it in different areas of our lives, and careful even about how we discuss it.

racial discrimination doesn't work. There are better and more efficient ways to judge someone. for instance- a white person could be bill gates or eminem. if you look at their color and make assumptions, you could be really wrong. if you look at their clothes, the way they speak, etc you'll get a better idea. so if you're going to be prejudiced, at least be more efficient at it
benvenuto- Asian students were being turned down because they didn't allow a college to represent cultural diversity- a lot of the Asian students focused on what colleges originally looked for - head of one club, played one instrument, etc. Colleges wanted to have a wider diversity of persons, so started looking at income, class, creativity, originality, etc. and it wasn't just to let in blacks, but also to let in more whites, Latinos, etc. Asians were beginning to be overrepresented is it fair? that's another question.

In some University of California campus, a lot of Asian kids are turned down because there are so many of them and not enough of blacks who made it to get a college level education. This is a little like reverse discrimination, and white people are not the only ones effected by it.

Discrimination is a result of fear. Those who discriminate others they do so because they are afraid. There is no superior race on Earth. each race has its own strengths and weaknesses.

There is racial discrimmination, but there is retaliation, and reactions. Usually Reacting to racism is mistakenly called Reverse racism.

I think it's wrong. We are all on this earth together as one society. I think that we all need to try to get along and help each other. Noone should put themself above another when it comes to humanity.
