The second sentence says that he married her, but he didn't see it coming or didn't think that that is what was going to happen. The first one says that he never had an interest in marrying her.

'I have never dreamed of marrying her'
This means that marrying her was never the topic of one of my dreams (meaning that I didnt desire it, and therfore didnt dream about it). An artist might say - 'I have never dreamed of being a CEO' - because they don't desire it.
'I never dreamed I would marry her'
This means that even though I wanted to marry her, the prospect of that happening was so remote, that I never even dared to dream about it. This statement implies that in the end, it did happen. Like 'I never dreamed I would win a million dollars' - said by a sweepstakes winner.
I'm quite confident about the above.

Lousy at math, but excellent in English.
P.S. Note that the two answers above this are both saying the same thing - just in a more condensed form.

They are both talking about the past.....but the first sentence is referring to something in the present, while the second is something in the future.
The second sentence could imply you are going to marry the person...while the first is more open ended.
Thats the best i can do, i tried to think of examples, but then i came up with about 6 ...all completely different scenerios

In the sentence "I have never dreamed of marrying her," you are trying to tell that you never had a dream wherein you married her. In the sentence "I never dreamed I would marry her," you are trying that you never wished that you will marry her.
I hope you understand.
