so just this is the first year (im counting years by school years) that i have had this bad of sleeping disorders. its 3 am, im not tried, its been like this for awhile
so this year, i have had problems with stalkers, my friends (some are no longer my friends), grades, i just recently got dumped, everyone at school refures to me as "the slut" just cause i went out with someone a year older than me (big wow at my school)
but i mean i dont really pay attention to that stuff during school, only at night when im by myself
i have also gone full days without sleeping
other times i dont fall asleep till the suns out
but the earliest i have gone to sleep (recently) is 2:30 am
but the times i have gone full days without sleeping, is after me and my bf split (he was also cheating on me...)
but i mean, i really hardly ever think of that stuff

so do i have islumia (cant spell it, sorry) or depression?
or something else?

Depression and insomnia are linked. I am sorry to hear about your situation and it seems you have a lot on your plate in the moment, stressful for many different reasons. I would suggest you see a counsellor.

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!

1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.

2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.

The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.

After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net

Ohhh..and Good Luck!

I was reading something about this only this morning. See links. They cover causes and treatments for not sleeping.

You may have a lot of 'unresolved conflicts' that are keeping you awake. If you've fallen out and argued with friends and you want to keep them as friends, try apologising, even it you don't consider the problem your fault. It works wonders sometimes.

Forget about the person that dumped you and move on. Find someone else.

To improve your grades, search on the net for articles on 'study tips', 'improving grades', etc, or ask for advice on here. Also search previous answers using the 'search for questions' box.

Find out what the sylabus is at the start of each year/term and what topics are to be covered. Get a quick understanding of each topic, such as 'the korean war', by looking it up on wikipedia. Follow links in articles for words or terms you don't understand or related articles. Get your parents to buy you some revision-guide books (from Amazon etc) for your particular examination board that both teach and test you on Math, English, Spanish, etc. Tell your parents that a small amount of money spent on books can add thousands to your annual salary when you graduate.

Our bodies can react in some strange ways to emotional stress. You've had alot happen recently, so your physical reactions are actually not that uncommon. You may need to be on some sort of medication on a short term basis (6 months?) in order to get you over this hump in your life. The main thing I would say, though is that you surely should see your doctor!

Both sleeping too much AND not being able to sleep are symptoms of depression.

That is a very tough question to answer, especially with the info provided here. Depression is a definite possibility, as is a sleeping disorder, which is often caused by depression. Are your obsessive thoughts keeping you awake - or are you just plain not tired? Do yourself a favor and see a medical doctor please. My guess would be that you are suffering a depressive episode, but that really needs to be diagnosed and treated by your physician.

I think you are just going through some crappy shi* that is a part of growing up. The lack of sleep, however, can eventually catch up to you and be a true problem in your life.
School is tough, and they will beat yu up if you let them, so don't let them...
This is going to sound like Polly-anna justice, but, try getting out there and doing some physical stuff, it will help you a lot...good luck..it is never easy....you will be okay..............
