Although I am a wild child by nature, I have become tamed somewhat. While growing up, I stalked the woods of South Dakota mostly to just see and experience the wilderness yet most nights I went home to my warm comfortable bed. These days, I live in California with my very domesticated wife who wouldn't put up with me if I reverted too far back into my wild side.

Well, if i am right in thinking what you mean then my personal answer is yes- I'm so frustrated and there is a wild side of waiting to come out. So I am very tame at the mo, and I can't take it but social restrictions stop me from going wild so I remain tame.

Is that what you're on about how we have become creatures of a tame nature where as our ancestors were like wild and did things without a care in the world and no social rules determined behaviour of individuals or groups. where as today we are bound by laws and social rules which restrict our behaviour and nature.

Since I was about 25 I haven´t had as much desire to stay out late and party like I used to. I got married a year and a half ago and since then I´ve had even less desire. I still have the urge to be wild once in a while but not like before.

Getting away from the sexual obsession, I think that watching Pro Wrestling is a healthy thing, as related to wildness. You really let things hang out, even if you know that the matches are rehearsed. It's not completely fulfilling, because it is just being a spectator, but if you feel ashamed to get into it, you're closer to being a vegetable than to being fully human.

You never loose your wild side, because this is what we are, we are still mammals, animals, on the inside and if you have the right impulse you will see that your animal part is still as wild, it's a fire that burns inside us like a flame that grows for the right cause. We can become wild, even lose ourselves, which is why it is very dangerous to do so.

I am as wild now as when I was a teenager, except now it is done with a certain amount of sophistication and hind-sight. No one tells me where to go or when and how. If anything this makes me less free, because I am then accountable to and for myself, and because I have this freedom, I feel more inclined to ration myself.A wild spirit stays with you for a life time.

I have long thought that we are becoming tame animals (or perhaps already are) and i think this is a great thing - More love and less stress.

Unfortunately now that i am living in israel i think i have lost some of my tameness.

also unfortunately I think there is some tendency to discourage tameness in people. "life's not meant to be easy" and you have to compete...

No I've not lost it
it lies dormant awaiting the opportunity to reveal it's self in all it's glory!
cohabiting for three years and a couple of kids will do that!
but i still eat meat off the bone with my fingers so i guess i ain't domesticated yet! lol
