OK, so my plane arrives at 11p on Sat night. Hotel reservations are for Sunday at 9a. I've looked for a cheap hotel for Saturday night, but there aren't really any. Anybody know anything about the off strip hotels, or the hotels near the airport? Are they safe--I don't want to die or get mugged waiting to check in to my real hotel. So, any suggestions on cheap, but safe hotels off the strip. Or any other ideas to kill time from 11p to 9a, and what can I do with my luggage if I don't have a hotel room?????

"Cheap" as in I don't want to spend $200 for a room for 10 hrs. I would be willing to go $120, but I want to be safe.

Contact the hotel that you're staying at and explain to them your situation. They should be happy to make some sort of arrangement for your luggage for really cheap, if not free.
If you're really nice and they're feeling giving, they might even let you check in earlier.
If they don't let you check in earlier, they will, at the very least, keep your bags for you. After you stash your luggage, try finding an all night diner or cafe to get something to eat then if you're not too strapped for cash, catch a show. If money is an issue, it's Vegas, after all, just wander the casinos!

Take your bags to your hotel (they will hold them for you) and then gamble ... same as if you had a room ... lol ... it's VEGAS BABY ...
It's not like the "Real" World ... I don't think anything in Vegas actually closes.
You could get married! 10 hours wouldn't set any Vegas records, but might shock the folks back home ... lol ... lol.
You did say "cheap" hotel denoting that you are on a budget ... so I guess that rules out horizontal refreshment to kill the time (well an hour or two of it at least) ... lmao.
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas ... just hope its not your luggage ... lm*ao.

Just go to the Bell Hop desk of the hotel you're staying at and they will hold your bags there and give you a claim check. then when you check in you can either claim your bags first or just have the bell desk bring them up to your room for you. You can even do this at any of the bell desks at hotels on the strip. Just make sure to tip them per bag and your set. I've done this when my check out time was hours before my flight home and still wanted to gamble without having to hold onto my bags. Then I just grab my bags and get a cab to the airport.

May I ask you why you need to ask them to be removed from your room? Are you that intimidated by the Bible? Instead of being intimidated why don't you actually take a few moments and ask God to show you Himself, through His word. There is a story that is true- a married woman had an affair, and got pregnant- she felt so ashamed to tell her husband, that she went to a hotel for the purpose of killing herself and her baby, because she could not tell her husband. She opened a Bible that was in the room, and realized what she had done was wrong but there was forgiveness in Christ- she not only did not kill herself and her unborn baby, she called her husband, confessed and repented and he forgave her. This is what the truth of the Bible can do, if you choose not to believe that is fine, just leave the book in the drawer, and do not find the greatest thing you will ever find in your life- Jesus Christ and eternal life.

I did some checking for Saturday 1-6-07 on http://www.travelworm.com
room rates
Stratosphere $72
Tropicana $70>Garden $86>tower
Orleans $74
Golden Nugget $79
Aladdin $99
Hooters $106
Flamingo $110
I know that the Orleans will price match that rate - at least they always have for me - for reservations - 1-800-675-3267 - the Orleans is a great place to stay - the rooms are very nice - great selection of food options - Cab ride from McCarran to Orleans runs about $15

Almost any hotel will hold your bags for you until check-in time. All the Vegas hotels I have stayed at have been very generous in letting me check in many hours ahead of schedule.

This is a common problem in Vegas and the hotels are quite familiar with it. Most of them will hold your bags for you until you check in. If my memory serves me, I've done this at Monte Carlo and Excalibur. Call the concierge and they can set up something for you in a flash.

Go to your hotel that you are staying at, explain to them what you are doing and they will store your bags for you until it is time for you to check in. Don't worry about sleep its Vegas. Sleep when you get home. Also Vegas is very safe, there are cameras everywhere just stay in areas with lots of people.

Hampton Inn off Tropicana. I spent like $99 for the night. It's like a block off the Strip. Book it thru Hilton's website.
