That depends on where you live and what you want to accomplish on your vacation. I love cruises. They are seriously relaxing, the range of things that you can do on board is phenomenal (especially Royal Caribbean. If you cruise one of their new Freedom Class of ships you can even surf on board!) the food is great, and you get to see several different places on one trip!

With a young daughter, don't venture too far unless you know she is a good traveler. If you think she'll be okay to fly then look to somewhere no further than 2 hours away, ideally somewhere where baby sitters are available. What about a nice hotel close to the In-Laws?
Best value - Asia

It supposed to fulfill what you dream of when you are at work. When you daydream of relaxing at the beach and building sandcastles with your daughter, go to Australia or Hawaii. If you want to explore the unknown, see different ways of living like never before, travel to Vietnam. Or if you want to have a hard on trip where you hike till you drop, you should look for some mountainranges like the Rockies. It is always best to follow your dreams, they tell you what you want!!!

Palawan in the Philippines. You get pristine beaches, good dive sites, beautiful corals at a very cheap price-totally unbelievable. Five star accomodations are also available if you want. There are also havens for holywood stars but it is kinda pricey.
Of course don't forget to stop by Manila for shopping there are clothes.pearls.signature items etc.
