I would like to withdraw money from my European account. There are expensive fees at each withdrawal. I have a Visa card.
My weekly limit is $800 (no daily limit).
Do you know any ATM allowing to withdraw $500 at once? $800? Limits are different from one ATM to another, depending on the bank owning the ATM. I need names of banks allowing such withdrawals... (I'm in New Jersey)

Thanks :)

Banks often set limits on the maximum possible amount at once, whatever your daily limit is. For example, try to withdraw $5000 at once even with an unlimited card... It won't work! :(

daily / weekly limit is set by your financial institution

the ATM machine asks for it - and the bank refuses once the limit has been achieved

Oops, sorry you're not in Ghana. Even here you'll go at least three times to withdraw $300 in local currency approx 2.7 million cedis. But dear friend ATMs are technically limited to spew out certain quantities of notes at a time. so depending on the denominations you may get more or less. Banks in their bid to make more from patrons sets limits and make sure that we frequent the ATMs so they can maximise their earnings. Sounds they're cheating. Thanks

My husband bought my wedding ring overseas and he had that problem. He had the jewelry withdrawal the money for him, then he paid him back.....that was in the middle east somewhere, though. You might need to find the bank you are with or call your bank and tell them you need the money. I hope you have good luck.
