I'm surprised regular printers are not able to meet your dpi needs. What kind of dpi are you hoping to get? Typical human eyes cannot differentiate between more than 1000dpi and normal printers go way beyond that now.

Eg. your computer screen shows stuff at about 96 dpi, magazine pictures are about 600 dpi.

So you should be able to get high dpi prints from any of the main printer manufacturers. They go at least to 2000+ dpi now to give photo quality printouts.

Have you tried speaking to your local print/copy shop to see if they can help you.

In most cases people print out an original from their printer at home and have it colour laser copied. The colour laser copier enhances the image somewhat and make it more durable.

Some copy shops have print from your file service. This is when they take your file and print to their machines and printers for quality results.

It is ideal you call or visit them first to find out your options.

Well, use a laser color printer and give print to make it a picture, I have had quite good results with the same.

Jessops have a pretty good while you wait print service from most media. (Nearest probably Bluewater) Possibly the same in Boots photo dept, though they perhaps know a bit less about DPI &c.

Try taking it to somewhere like Kall Kwick (?) or a specialist high street printing outlet - they should be able to help.
