The best known board game in our country is probably Monopoly or Scrabble.And,yes just like what Bernz said there is a game called "Tong-its" in our country(Philippines) but it becomes illegal when money is involved.

Monopoly would probably be the most known board game.
The most known card game is probably Poker or Solitare.

Scrabble is still the best board games that I know though it is now confined through the computer.
We have a card game somewhat similar to poker called "Tong-Its".
