Twelfth night - the 6th January.

Many take them down the day after Christmas while others wait until New Year's day. I don't think they look appropriate or fashionable after New Year's day.

Be that as it may, we must understand that some communities (Greek/Russian Orthodox, Latins...) observe Christmas well into January (they use a different calendar or have feast days that are actually in January, such as Three Kings Day). Therefore, the practice of taking down decorations after our Christmas or New Year's may not apply here.

christmas decoration may come down 12 days after christmas or earlier. sometimes, people like it the way it is for a longer period of time to reminise the spirit of christmas. some also put it down as well... in short it depends upon you decision and your reason doesn't really matter ^_^'

Traditionally after the sixth, according to my calculations. I have friends who take their's down as much as a week or two after.
My mum did her's the day after Christmas, both grandmums on New Years. They then burned the old trees to burn away all the bad luck of the previous year.
Indeed customs are all over the place. It depends on how traditional you wish to be.
Mine will probably come down when it return from a brief holiday next week. It is a fake wo won't dry out.

i've got self assurance the custom is the 12th day after Christmas, it fairly is 6th January. it is likewise the Epiphany, whilst Christians have fun the advent of the three kings/clever men to head to the toddler Jesus, which symbolises how He got here to keep all men, not purely "His own" people (the Jews). A superstition is that that is undesirable success to head away them up after the 12th night, and with a view to dodge the undesirable success, you than might desire to head away them up all 12 months. i'm taking my decorations down the next day, yet once you do not accept as true with the custom/superstition, take them down whilst it suits you!

Trtadition says they come down on 5th January, the eve of the Epiphany festival. Superstition says it's unlucky to leave them up longer than that!
