I am waiting for referal from my doctor
I hardly slept lastnight at all for the pain
In the last 3 months my periods have become irregular
I have started getting really bad period pain BEFORE I acctually come on.
Its like being in limbo for a few days, thinking that at any moment you are going to come on, but nothing happens
The pain and signals are the usual type {sore boobs etc), except that it radiates from one particular side, from the point where I imagine my ovary to be.
at 33 with one child - I have never before had any other irregularity or excessive pain
I have been treated as a precaution with plenty of antibiotics and so my doctor has ruled out any further infection.
I don't know how long I am going to have to wait now to see a specialist
has anyone experienced similar? what was the prognosis? any ideas on easing the pain?

I've had both ovarian cysts and endometriosis.
Cysts are seen by ultrasound, endometriosis can be hard to find, depends where it is - mine was on the ligaments at the back of my womb so well hidden, lots of pain especially during sex but got a good gyn doc and he sorted me out. Took 2 laparoscopy ops tho.
Keep pestering the docs to get seen, it'll be worth it.
Good luck :~)

It sounds more like an ovarian cyst to me. They are fairly 'normal', and they can get infected. It can be extremely painful.
You also may be experiencing mittelschmerz, pain when ovulating. That is normal, quite a few women have this every month. Look it up on WebMD if you would like more info on this, that is the second link below.
There is a third link for Poly Cycstic Ovarian Syndrome but I have only included this so you can rule it out :-)
Good luck, HTH
***After your update***
Yup, if it is a functioning cyst that is infected it is only an u/s to dx.

Uhh... not really. I had to have a hysterectomy at 28, and an ovary removed ten years later, because of endometriosis.
With endo, you are completely non-functional for several days during your period. The pain is not low down, but like menstrual cramps from Hxll, in your back, down your legs, you cannot get uncurled.
As the other women said, if you can pinpoint it to an ovary, it's probably a cyst.
Hope you get it sorted out soon.

Once infertility has been diagnosed, there are a number of treatment options available depending on the root cause of the problem. Learn here https://tr.im/SgjG4
Infertility is a condition defined as not being able to become pregnant after at least one year of unprotected, regular, well-timed intercourse. Women who suffer from multiple miscarriages may also be diagnosed as infertile. Infertility may be classified into two groups, primary and secondary infertility.

I have endometriosis and cysts on my ovaries and I have been treated with pills and with surgery three times. Just remember that it could be something really simple that they can fix easily and cysts on your ovaries can be drained through keyhole surgery which is very minor surgery. Good luck I hope you feel better soon

There is a free information and self-test package available online at http://www.endocenter.org/pdf/2006ScreeningEducationKit.pdf. It offers extensive info about signs and symptoms, background and information about the disease, a self-test you can review with your docs, a pain journal you can map your symptoms in, and treatment options and ideas. You can also stop by and visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/erc to share with over 3000 others who understand. Good luck.

IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment; IUI, ICSI and Laparoscopic surgery is very cheap in India. The cost is very low and the medical services are very good in India.
My cousin and her husband got their IVF treatment in India through the Forerunners Healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is a known case of PCOS.She is a very happy mother of a baby boy now. She just paid 2500 pounds for the full IVF treatment in India for which she was quoted 8000 pounds in private setup in UK.
Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the newspapers. I have also read about a Chinese couple who planned surrogacy through the Forerunners Healthcare. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery and infertility treatment like IVF, IUI, and ICSI abroad for low price. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery and treatment can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
