Was he asking a question or making a statement?Was he trying to bless me somehow or did he say it out of pity because of where I work?fastfood,.

Youre being blessed by someone,It happens to me so I always say thank you and God bless u too.Believe in it.Also its' another way of saying thank to you for giving him his food.

He was simply saying he hopes GOD is with you, blesses you etc. I don't think it was out of pity, nor was it a question. It's sort of like when old people say bless your little heart... It's on the same lines

It depends....I have heard that before, mostly from older gentlemen/gentleladies. Our culture has changed so much these last few years that for us newer/ future generations, it might seem a different language.

It was no harm, and although I don't know what it means exactly, it is not a bad thing, just a cultural difference. I will write my grandmother about this, she of all people will know what it means. Good question.

He was being kind. It's a more old fashioned way to say "Bless you". It's most often offered by a priest or pastor. The proper response would be "Thank you".

It was a statment. Yes, he was offering you a blessing. When this is said in church, the response is "and also with you." So, you would be offering the blessing back. "Thank you" would have been a good option, too!

In my opinon, he was blessing you! Asking God to be with you everywhere you go

Well, it really depends on his voice, If was sort of like worried, then It was pitty, if it souded like he was asking, then question and if he said it in a calm voice and had sort of thank you face then it was a thank you statement

He was saying "bless you" in an older manner...harmless.
