Your brain is divided into two pieces:
the Left side,
and the Right side.
Each of these two hemispheres serve a different purpose for our general functionality.
It is known that the Left side is responsible for logical, analytical thought and the Right side is responsible for creative, imaginative thought.
It is also known that the left side controls the right portion of the body, and the right side of the brain controls the left portion of our body.
Through the centuries of our existence on this planet, it became necassary to apply our logical thought to any situation in order to survive. Because of this, the logical side of the brain (the left) developed and gained dominance over the creative side of the brain (the right).
With all that said, this concludes that through evolution, majority of the human population are right handed because they're naturally left hemisphere (logical side) dominant.
Which means that people who are left handed are more inclined to be imaginative and creative because they are right hemisphere (creative side) dominant.
In conclusion, the "part" of the brain that make people left handed is the dominance of the (creative) right hemisphere over the (logical) left hemisphere.
Of course, any right handed person can be artistic and visa versa because anything can be developed. We are the animals of adaptation, just as the cheetahs are the animal of speed.
It's just what some people are born with.

the cerebellum, aka, little brain which is under the cerebral hemispheres is responsible for fine motor development and the hemispheres are responsible for language development. They both have right and left halves that often correspond to the opposite side of the body but this differences in the hemisperes for language development are less obvious in left handed people sometimes but not so in the cerebellum where fine motor occurs. I'm thinking the right cerebellum controls left handed dominance.

to the left side of the body
does that fact make you left handed
somehow I don't think so
but good question I have no idea

Being left handed is a result of Psychological factors (and/or disturbances) to an expectant mother which directly affect normal mental development of the foetus ie development in the negative(opp) direction.
