I have both systems and they are both awesome systems. But overall i would have to say the PS3 is better when it comes to graphics, gameplay, and controls. Even though sony took away the rumble and put in tilt action, the tilt action is awesome when it comes into play in some games!

Currently I'd say yes. Xbox is better than PS3.
A lot of developers for games make more games for the Xbox, because there are a lot of gamers with a 360, and currently there aren't enough PS3s to make the development costs reasonable, when there are not enough PS3 owners to buy the games.

So almost all games for the PS3 will also come out for the Xboy 360. With almost identical graphics.

Furthermore, the Xbox has a gigantic Xbox Live community. You will instantly be able to play Live-enabled games with people all over the world easily.
I have never seen such an easy way to get an online play going.

With the PS3 each game developer has to program its own online service for each game.

And just look at the Xbox marketplace. If you buy an Xbox today, you have instant access to free game demos, casual games like Poker and Uno, classic arcade games like Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat and Pac Man, and in the Video Marketplace you can get full movies (some of them already in High Definition like the movies on HD DVD or Blue Ray) and TV shows.

So, if you absolutely need a gaming console right now, you're better off getting a Xbox...

However, give the PS3 a year or so. It will probably gain a userbase and developers will be more tempted to make more Game Exclusives like Final Fantasy only for PS3.
And the price will probably have dropped until then.

And if you argue about HiDef Films on Blue Ray:
The war between HD DVD and Blue Ray has just begun.
In the long run, retailers will be fed up with providing three times the shelf space for a single movie in DVD format, Blue Ray and HD DVD.
So as soon as one format is marginally more successful than the other, the unsuccessful format will have the same fate as Betamax and the PSP movies, that are taken out of Walmart.
If HD DVD wins, you have a shiny black paperweight.
If Blue Ray wins, Microsoft, will abandon their HD DVD accessory drive and sell a BlueRay accessory drive.

So for the future, it's not easy to say which is better. But today, get an Xbox...

No way. As previously said by some gamer it is great. But it is your future entertainment system. Sony will eventually create this massive online community that will completely dominate the games. Also it has blu ray. We don't know for sure but Blu ray may win in the battle with HD DVD and so you pay for a gaming system and you get a Blu Ray player which costs the same as the system. It's two for one. I am sure Blu Ray will win out.
