What brand car? Might be like a gm, and when it has no oil pressure (which you will have none) it shuts the fuel pump off... so barely no damage....
but you will possibly seize the connecting rods to the crank if they don't break that is.... and scar the cylinder bores and rings and pistons pretty good from heat and no lubrication.... they also might seize....
this is if the engine actually keeps running..... you'll know when it gets ready to go, the engine will start getting more and more sluggish... depends on the engine though... when it will quit

At first it should run. After a little while it will begin to squeak. The squeaking will get louder, and the temperature will begin to rise. The engine will struggle to stay running, and progress to the point of the parts inside actually melting together. Eventually it will stop, either by melting together or destructing. At this point the engine will be making some incredible smoke, noise, and heat. You have heard of an engine blowing up? Well.... at this point it can, and sometimes will throw a connecting rod right through the engine, and its not selective as to which way it throws it either. This I know, because we did it years ago, just to see how long it would run, and what would happen.
glad to help. Good Luck!!!

It will start.
Could you jump off a 40 story building? Yes, once, just like starting your car with no oil.

severe damage very quickly -
on my car with oil - I allow it to warm up for 30 seconds before putting a load on the engine to move it - let the lubrication do its thing!

Happened to me once....while driving....didn't know the oil was that low. Blew a rod through the engine. Small hole on one side, very large hole on the other. Had to have the engine replaced.
You'll know it's about to blow when you hear the tick tick tick that preceeds the boom. No kidding.

It will start and run until there is too much heat and not enough lubricity. Then very ugly things will start to happen - things which will be quite costly to repair. It should really be avoided.

It will still start, but don't run it long or rev the engine, because it will overheat. You pistons will basically melt, or sieze. Then you need a new engine (block).

It will cause severe damage to the engine...ie pistons...and after a bit your engine will lock up completely because of a lack of lubrication.

<>Nothing will happen if you TRY to start the car. If you actually start it and it runs, very quickly the engine will overheat and seize and you will need a new car.
