Yes you can, but the mistake many people make is in linking the mission and the president while separating the troops out. If you do not support the mission, if you believe we will lose, or worse yet that we have already lost you do not support the troops. Supporting the troops is more than just hoping they don't get killed. Support for the troops is a belief that we have the finest fighting men and women in the world. Supporting the troops is believing that there is not a military objective we cannot accomplish. Supporting the troops is putting aside the politics once we are committed and saying now we must win for the good of the nation. This is what many cannot or will not do. This is why many who say they support the troops are only paying lip service to the idea in order to soothe their own consciouses.

Absolutely.those who support Bush will probably disagree but ask your self this! There are high ranking military personal who questions not the Presidents authority but his handling of the Iraq war..if they, the ones on the ground who know best, leading our troops..and supporting them..than why can't the average American Joe or MARY ?

I say even if you don't respect the man, respect the title. You can support our soldiers. But instead of just saying you support the troops, go online and find the adopt-a-soldier programs and send them stuff that they maybe don't need, but may remind them that they are supported here.
I know that some troops don't support the presidents decision, but they do their jobs. It is our responsability to insure that our troops are cared for, you know?

How can one NOT support the troops out there.

They are the ones that were sent out to Iraq/Afghanistan and are dying everyday because they believe that they are doing the good of the country. It is not their fault regarding the war...it's Bush's.

I consider our troops fighting in Iraq and elsewhere to be innocent victims of the Bush administration, and I support victims rights, so yes, one can support the troops without supporting the president.

I believe it was wrong for the US to invade Iraq, but that isn't the fault of the troops that were deployed there. Blame lies with the people who made the decisions. Everyone else is simply following orders, and whether or not I support the cause they are fighting for isn't really relevent to my feelings towards the individual men and women ordered to fight for it.

What makes you think this president has any honor, leadership capability or integrity? What makes you think this president is even worthy of his office ? Hell, yes one can. I note that 70 percent of Americans do not trust this president. I never did.
By undermining, sidelining, and stopping this president from making even more disastrous decisions, or carrying out more lame policies that reduce veteran's benefits - you can support them.

If you really want to show them you support them, you can go to a website called treats for troops. You buy customized baskets of their fav things, it's called sponsoring. You get to pick the branch, and get his/her stats, They really appreciate getting gifts and cards.(mostly junk food!) I do it on holidays and they are very greatful.

Of course you can. When I was in 'Nam for two tours and found out the American public was against us so much at first, it crushed me. I didn't care what was happening over there. It became dangerous for all the guys knowing no one here cared what was happening over there. Hanoi Jane:aka Jane Fonda, with her news clips didn't help. Remember, those guys and girls, didn't ask to go over there but, they were ordered to and now there following those orders so, keep them informed. Write them, fly your flags for them and send them stuff, let them know you care.

Yes. However, you can't support the troops and not support the war effort.

They are one in the same.

Of course not. The President is the highest Elected Official in the country! Tell me you didn't think ole' basset-hound face would've done any thing differently what with his aggressive military experience and all? Americans who cannot be proud of it's President as a member of this country should run for office and put their sweat equity where their mouths are. At least president Bush is willing to do the job you only whine about.
