Are you asking why the other planets in the solar system are useful to life on Earth? If so the only planets that really help us are the big ones (Jupiter and Saturn). They're large circumference helps clear out debris during orbit. This in turn makes Earth less likely to slam into a huge asteroid.

There is no point in asking for a "purpose" here. They just exist. Whether we can ever make use of them depends on our science and the visions of our politicians. Remember that man has not set foot on the Moon since it was first done in 1968, because the powers-that-be thought that it was a waste of money. They rather spent billions on new weapons systems.
