No, it wouldn't matter if their skin were blue! It is called ignorance. If your classmates would take the time to learn about the Asian culture they would be able to accept them eaiser. Human beings are afraid of what they do not know. But do not like to admit it so it become easier to just say that they "hate" or "dislike" someone or something.

I don't think so. Chinese people are the the biggest nation in the world. One fourth of the world population are Chinese.
There are China towns everywhere in the world. In Indonesia for instance, 70 % of the country's economy are in the hands of 5 % of the Chinese people there. (Actually not all the 5 % of chinese population there have anything to do with the economy, only about 20 % of them do business at all.) The Chinese people are the most economical people, they know how to save. They live within their budgets and they know how to "prepare their umbrella for the rainy days." They are very hard to keep down or annihilate. In many countries they are hated and persecuted by the more the natives destroy their properties, the more prosperous they become.
Chinese kingdom or country is the longest to have existed continuously. The Chinese language or writing is the longest to have been in use. That's only a few things why people are jealous of them. Perhaps they are comparable to the Jews and sometimes called the Jews of Asia. Especially with the rise in their country's economy, it is natural for other nations to fear them as potential yellow danger, and make them Sino-phobic.

you should have just left the first part of the question. The second part makes you look bad. Anyways in answer to your question its because they are idiots. Plain and simple. Tell them to stop making out with their mothers and pick up a book. Oh also in addition to telling them happy new year, let them also know its a new millennium.
Happy New years and Happy Chinese new years as well. (Jan 29th)

High school kids are quite clickish & look down upon others who are not like them. They're pretty superficial until they enter the "real" world; pretty much interested in appearances, who has the most clothes, best hair, etc. If you don't look and act like them you are considered to be inferior & they let you know it. Kindness is not an attribute they concern themselves with. Its unfortunate because I think it would be pretty interesting to know & learn about the homelife of someone who is of the Asian culture.

It is probibly because your class mates find it easier to hate and beleive in existing sterotypes than to take the risk of talking and learning about someone new.

I don't know...most people have to be taught as children to hate. Chinese are fine upstanding people. I don't know why your classmates should feel this way and I think they are wrong.

Your class mates need a slap across the head. If they come across and be racist to my kids they will break their skulls open.

I had to deal with alot of racism myself at school and I dont want my kids to be victimised the same way.
