I tend not to give them money. I'd rather get them something to eat or a cup of tea. At tleast that way I know the money hasn't gone on alcohol or drugs, and said homeless person isn't going to get robbed in his sleep for it.

i gave one in Paris a rose and 2 subs we ust bought and 20 bucks and a teddy bear that my bf gave to me, he was ok with it cause he came on the trip w/ my family. She had a little girl and was sleeping in teh subway so we gave her some subway passes to . Sh ewas very grateful. However, a random person with no family i would give less to because there is a great risk tehy would use it on drugs or alchohol!

depends, usualy nothing, if they look like a sad down on their luck old man or lady though I will tend to give them what ever change I have in my pocket. Also if they have a good sign that I haven't seen and is funny I will give them some change.

Sometimes it is not how much money you give them... Maybe just to listen or acknowledge them as a person, is as much a gift as any dollar amount. everyone just wants to be heard...
