i have never done this myself-but i know people who have and more often than not their ban is usually extended coupled with a very heavy fine. but in severe cases a custodial sentence will be handed down for being in contempt of a court order telling the defendant not to drive any motorized vehicle on the public highway for a set duration of time. this can usually lead to between 3 and 6 months in custody. i live in the UK by the way.

In my country, if your licence is suspended and you are caught driving straight go to jail.
