ok i have to ask because i'm really starting to feel like a freak on here with the pcos questions. am i the only one on here that did every trick anyone's suggested on here and i was pregnant once, off injectables but miscarried at 5 weeks. but i never carried to term or was able to conceive again after this what seemed to be a fluke?? i'm really serious here, am i a freak, have i missed something? i've read every book, i can quote them, i've done everything but ovarian drilling and ivf, because seriously why? i just want to know if there is someone out there that has pulled all the rabbits out of their hat and not had a biological child? surprisingly happy for those of you who lost weight, took met, and it worked, but just wondering what gives?

ok maybe i should add we're not ttc anymore, we have a beautiful daughter through the miracle of adoption. just wondering why no one on here but myself with pcos didn't get preggers. and seriously, all you who are not infertile, please don't tell infertile people to relax and it will happen. i had thoughts of smacking with a stick everytime i heard that. infertilty causes stress, stress does not cause infertilty.

and i have been under the care of an reproductive endocrinologist for 6 years. thanks though.

Im sorry that you didn't have any luck with treatment. My only thought was that maybe you were not on a high enough dose of metformin. What dose were you on? I had one of the best reproductive endocrinologists in the Chicagoland area (has won awards and everything)..and he would not up my dose past 1500mg. I eventually went to my regular obgyn and she agreed to up my dose to 2000mg. As soon as I did that...I started seeing results. You said that you have good quality eggs though, so maybe that's not it...but it was my first thought. Also, women with PCOS have higher miscarriage rates, so it is suggested to stay on metformin through the first trimester. The best treatment for PCOS is metformin with a low carb diet and exercise, so if you were doing all that and adding fertility treatments too..then that shouldv'e worked.

I have heard of unexplained infertility. The doctors can not figure out what is wrong. My friends are dealing with this right now and it is super frustrating for them because they dont know what to do. They test fine on everything..but just can not get pregnant. Unfortunatly, there are still parts of fertility that doctors don't know much about.

Congratulations on your beautiful daughter. Sorry no one seems to have better answers for you.

I'm sure there are many women with PCOS that were not able to conceive. However, we are fortunate to live in an age were there are so many options available to us. I guess it's just finding the right one for you. If you haven't already, I would seek a fertility specialist to discuss your options. If you really want your own biological baby, then why would you rule out ivf? If it's because you had a miscarriage, you should think otherwise. 25% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage, so it's more common than people think. I've had one myself, so I know how difficult they are. My OB did a biopsy of my uterus lining and found it wasn't thick enough to sustain a pregnancy, so I now take Prometrium (progesterone) when ttc from day 16 of my cycle until the end or until the end of my first trimester if I get pregnant. It worked for me, I have a healthy baby girl.

As for getting pregnant with PCOS, I don't have it, but I did suspect I had it at one time because I had many symptoms, so I know a little about it and researched it a bit. Anyway, I came across and interesting article about carbohydrates and PCOS. It wasn't suggesting a low carb diet so much for losing weight, but because carbs somehow interfere with conceiving if you have PCOS. I think there might be some truth to this because a co-worker of mine had ttc for many years and her OB suspected she had PCOS. Although she was never technically diagnosed because she was afraid of having the tests done, she went on a low-carb diet to lose weight. After 9 months, she had lost 70 lbs. Then to her surprise she was pregnant - without any medication. I wish I could find the article, but perhaps you can discuss this idea with your doctor. My prayers are with you that you will be blessed with a baby. Good luck.

there is a few debate on whether or to not proceed taking the metformin in the path of the 1st trimester to sidestep miscarriage. some say it facilitates, others say to stop because of the fact it truly is not a being pregnant authorized medicine. talk on your physician approximately it to make certain what they are asserting. given which you have been in easy terms taking it for a month combating it in all probability is merely not a situation. in spite of everything merely relax, shop taking your supplements and maximum probable each and every thing will finally end up positive. There truly isn't something you're able to do to sidestep a miscarriage so merely relax and luxuriate in being pregnant. * I easily have PCOS, and that i had a million miscarriage.

IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment; IUI, ICSI and Laparoscopic surgery is very cheap in India. The cost is very low and the medical services are very good in India.

My cousin and her husband got their IVF treatment in India through the Forerunners Healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is a known case of PCOS.She is a very happy mother of a baby boy now. She just paid 2500 pounds for the full IVF treatment in India for which she was quoted 8000 pounds in private setup in UK.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the newspapers. I have also read about a Chinese couple who planned surrogacy through the Forerunners Healthcare. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery and infertility treatment like IVF, IUI, and ICSI abroad for low price. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery and treatment can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

Have PCOS, have one child - before I was diagnosed, but would have had it since I was a teen. Have you had all the tests available from your gynecologist to determine everything clearly, and has your husband been tested? Sorry, I know it's hard when you want kids; we surely wanted more, but sometimes it's just not meant to be.

Sometimes it just doesn't happen. the Dr. didn't say you were sterile? I've never been pregnant but there have been plenty of opportunities to be. dr. says I don't have pcos but I'm willing to bet she's wrong and I should see someone else. good luck anyway
